Now that the California National Convention is over it is time to think about the California State Square Dance Convention in Fresno in April 2010.
For the first time we will be having 5 very special callers for a full program of Square Dancing. They are Bob Baier from Texas, Tim Crawford from Canada, Dan Nordbye from Arizona, Tony Oxendine from South Carolina and Charlie Robertson from Colorado. There will be a full round dance program with Bob & Sandy Nolan, Trenna & Bruce Chadd, and Peter & Chama Gomez in addition to other local cuers, handicapable program, fashion show, Exhibitions, Education Panels, sewing room, vendors, food court on site, and a relaxed dress code.
Our grand prize drawing will be on Sunday, all cash prizes. Also on Sunday will be a Red Hat Ladies parade. We need all the dancers to support the state events, festivals and conventions or we may not have any.
Register early and come to the 50th State Square Dance Convention at the Fresno Fairground with RV Parking on the grounds, within easy walking to the halls. For those of you who will be staying in hotels check our flyers for some of our Fresno hotels. Look for information on our Trail in Dance on Thursday night. Join us in Fresno in 2010 and help us “stomp some grapes!”
